Friend for hire

Friend for hire
Not just any sort will do
Must be kindhearted
And willing to be silly too

Friend needed
Someone who never leaves
A trustworthy person
Without any tricks up their sleeves

Friend wanted
Someone who’s faith is fully intact
I often get lost along the way
Need someone who can drag me back

Friend request
Please don’t you dare say no
I want someone who’ll stand beside me
And never let me go

Friend desired
Must love writing and be able to dream
Need a great sense of humor
And be willing to laugh and scheme

Friend fancied
Must love the great outdoors
Should be able to thrive in nature
And have a deep yearning to explore

Friend required
Partner in crime and loyal mate
Must have a heart of gold
And not be prone to hate

Friend petition
Must be witty, quirky, and fun
Need to be able to conspire
Until the day is done

Friend inquiry
Must be charming, kind, and sweet
Oh who am I kidding
Such a friend I’ll never meet!

  1. I loved this poem for so many reasons! (The flow and structure being just a few)
Sighs. Don’t we all want friends like that? Oh well. Hopefully, one day you shall find someone like that!
Keep up the awesome posts. I really look forward to reading all your responses to the prompts. ❤️❤️

    1. Thank you so much, and yes, it seems like a hopeless request. But who knows… there have been a lot of things in my life that I thought were impossible but then suddenly they weren’t. So, I’ll never give up believing in miracles. ❤️

  2. Just saw your response to your love. What a great way to communicate across the distance. This makes my heart both smile and break for you. My husband just returned from an 11 day journey, and I got the first itsy-bitsy taste of what you all are going through. I can only imagine how much you miss each other. … I’ll be praying for you in his absence and for him for his safe travels, work and return home. … I’m not much on twitter, but if you ever do need a friend, I can assure you I’ll be here as much as one can be in a blogosphere. 😉 You will be in my prayers. Keep writing. You have a beautiful gift. 😊💕

    1. It’s been very hard, but sometimes a break from each other can be a good thing too. I think we always appreciate each other a lot more after we’ve been apart for any great length of time. Thank you for your prayers and I have bookmarked your page so that I can read it on a regular basis. The things I read on your blog tonight really spoke to me. I look forward to reading more. ☺️

      1. It’s so true. The old adage, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder” is definitely true in my life. The absence made me so grateful for what we have, and it really opened my eyes to what some others don’t have. I met a young lady not too long ago who is in a similar situation as yours. I gave her a call during this time, just to tell her how much I admire and respect her for what she’s doing. I’ve always appreciated and respected military families for the sacrifices they make; however, during this short absence, it gave me a tiny taste of what it’s really like, as we hadn’t been apart like that in almost 15 years. It caused my respect and appreciate to deepen even more. Thank you for the bookmark and your kind words. I have loved your poetry, and I look forward to reading more as well. 😊

    1. Ooohhh… really? I didn’t think anybody would be brave enough to apply. Lol… I’m serious though… I feel I’m in need of some really good close friends. I’m praying that God sends me someone who honestly wants to be a close confidant to me. I have my husband, but he won’t be back for a year, and well, everyone needs a friend other than their spouse. If you ever do want a friend to talk to, I’m on Twitter @herwritinghaven Hope your having a great week. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂💛

    1. Only as long as you meet all of the qualifications. You’ll have to apply like everyone else. Please submit your resume and at least 5 references. Along with a substantially long list of why I should consider you for the job. I’m extremely demanding, so you might want to take that into consideration before you apply. Lol… Now aren’t you glad you married me. Seems that was a whole lot easier than the requirements for my friendship! Lol… 😂 Love you babe… talk to ya later. 💋 xoxo
