Skyline Reflections

These city lights
Reflected in blurred images
Remind me of how obscure and hazy
Our world has really become
Even now,
As I sit upon this distant shore
Far from the hustle and bustle
Of so many lives
I am still close enough
To catch a faint glimpse
Of the unfathomable obscenities
Which darken a myriad of paths
And it saddens me
To the very core of my being
For humanity seems to have lost
What once was so precious
And I cannot help but wonder
If the world will ever be the same
By perhaps reclaiming her priceless values
Long since buried
Beneath the murky waters
Which continue to dance indecisively
Against these moonlit reflections
And leave me feeling so very alone
In thought and soul
