Day after day

Day after day
I wake up alone
Feeling so lost
All on my own

I wonder why life
Brought me here
Nobody to love
Or to be near

If there’s a reason
I may never know
Time just passes
People come and go

So I wait right here
While the earth still spins
Knowing that it’s likely
I’ll never win

My hand’s been dealt
It’s all in the cards
Maybe I’m just easy
To disregard

  1. This was such a delightful poem! Such heartfelt yearning. Fret not. Time will bring you to the right place at the right time. It took me 2 marriages and being 50 but the last twenty years have been bliss. Having a true soulmate is worth the wait!
