Memories

Your words
They sit
In a lonely tin
Sad to think
I’ll never
See you again

But life
Moves on
You went away
I’m still
Sometimes sad
You didn’t stay

  1. Beautiful and thoughtful poem!
That happens a lot in life.
Especially, as we get older, people not only move away and out of our lives, but leave this Earth completely.
Well, while we are here, there is a chance you’ll meet that person if you want it. I’m writing on my other blog (lifeschool) how universe facilitates and helps with things we want.
Sad, brief and great, simply good poetry.

    1. Thank you… It’s sad how it happens, but I knew this person would eventually be gone from my life and now they are. It’s really for the best for both them and me. Sometimes friendships just aren’t meant to continue. Fortunately life goes on and we make new friends and then we’re happy again. Can you please send me the link to your other blog. I’d love to check it out. 😉

  2. I know what you mean. Most times, I spend more time looking for the right image than I do on writing the story but it’s always worth it when you do find that image. Yes, it’s great to have Pixabay 🙂

  3. Michelle, I love your little reference “sometimes sad” at the end. People are imperfect, so we add and detract value in relationships with others. Lot of profound thoughts in such a small poem. I also like the “tin” reference. Keith

    1. Thank you Keith, what you’re saying is so very true. I’ve been preparing to move and finding lots of forgotten treasures along the way. So I pack a little, stop and cry for a second, and move on to the next thing. It’s been fun to reminisce along the way, but sad at times too.
