Marveling over mushrooms

There’s a small city
I never really see,
right outside
in front of me.

It’s hidden in the glen
thickets deep,
where the clover
likes to creep.

The little city bustles
with a steady flow
of creatures so tiny
they’re hard to know.

So, at last, today,
I opened my eyes,
shook to my core
by the loveliest surprise.

A small city
I’d never really seen,
right outside,
all for me.

        1. Oh I remember that one! 😃 It carries my thoughts to another world. 🍄

I was so sad the other day when someone kicked off all the mushroom caps, but then a zillion more mushrooms popped up in their place. So of course I’ve been trying to capture all the new ones in photos as soon as they spring up.

And I wholeheartedly agree. I don’t know how I’d survive without all those magical moments within the mundane. I think that’s what’s gotten me through this pandemic! 💫😅

    1. Thank you, Cindy. I always love finding these unexpected treasures on my daily walks. I never know what I’ll find but it’s the tiniest things that impress me the most.

    1. Thank you so much, Ace! I’m feeling very inspired by nature lately. I’m thinking that I should start posting more of my photographs along with my poetry. I take so many pictures and I hardly ever share any of them. I hope you’re having a wonderful day. 💫

        1. Thanks again… it is that time of year… we get lost in the crunch of the leaves as we stroll through the vibrant colors of autumn. 🍂And I’m glad you are, I am too! ☺️
