I’ve never sought fame,
and I’ve never searched for fortune,
even though the hand I was dealt
was such a small portion.
But when you’re used to having little,
brimming isn’t what you need.
Your life becomes humble,
never filled with pointless greed.
So, I’m thankful for my lot in life;
I’ve been doing just fine.
Meager but abundantly happy
and wonderfully resigned.

I discovered fame on whispers and waistlines—then slipped out the back before virtue noticed. 🏄♂️

Thank you, Hazel. Positivity is so important these days. Even in my sad poems, I try to leave a bit of hope in the end.
