Gentle reminders

Gentle reminders
Softly spoken whispers
Sent on stardust
Sealed with kisses

Let these be the messages
I never forget
whenever the moon
decides to disappear

Let these be the reminders
alighting my pathway
until the day
the sun ceases to shine

Moving mayhem

I haven’t had coffee in weeks
no desire to change the sheets

It’s all just gone to hell
this place where I currently dwell

Some furniture has disappeared
the rest is about to be cleared

Get me outta here I say
but this month won’t go away

Time has not been in my favor
so I continue to stew and labor

If only I could speed things up
I’d be happy as a jolly ol pup

Hollow requirements

Between the head
and the heart
we can feel hollow
and pulled apart

All those hidden spaces
in-between
are often isolated
and unseen

The requirements
within our core
leave us yearning
forevermore

Until necessities
are found at our feet
we can feel empty
and incomplete

Few ever find
what they’re searching for
most are adrift
and wanting more

Some are lucky
to see their way
we’re fortunate
if those ones stay

Darkness and light
are ever near
consequences
aren’t always clear

But the path
is always ours to decide
we just need someone
to stand beside

Pixie dust and fire

Foretelling flames
sparked the rubble
that’s when both of them knew
they were in loads of trouble

Pixie dust specks
and spatters of desire
flared each flicker
destined never to expire

And although the world
tried to keep them apart
divine interventions
sealed their fate from the start

Who would’ve thought
a little dust and heat
could make someone’s lives
so full and complete

Oblivious observations

It was a warm-weathered day as delicate petals pelted and pranced across the pages of an open book. Occasionally, a brisk breeze would materialize, causing a sudden soirée of flowers to take flight, ultimately embellishing the barren pages, which seemed particularly peckish for a poetic phrase. It was as if the tree were purposely parading posies in an attempt to gain the attention of the writer below. But the wordsmith was lost in a world of rhythmic ruminations, never giving the tree a single thought, focusing solely on the stark landscape of her inconsolable book. Had the writer even an inkling about what the tree desired to divulge, she may have taken a moment to meditate, soaking in the silent secrets of her friend above. But as this wasn’t the case, the writer continued to stare blankly, utterly unaware of the many mysteries that were longing to be revealed.
