I guess it all depends…

suspended-leaf-3166771_1280

We often experience
A multitude of seasons
And nobody really knows
All of those reasons

But we carry on
Like we always do
Even when the answers
Are nearly none to few

And we never stop to question
What those seasons mean
Yet there must be hidden answers
In everything we’ve seen

Scattered between the pages
Of our monotonous lives
There have got to be reasons
For why we’ve somehow survived

And even if those answers
Are never actually found
We should all be happy
We’ve been allowed to stick around

So many people in this world
Never have that gifted chance
I guess it all depends
On our individual circumstance

Fantasy girl

beauty-2388350_1280

I see the way you look at me
With lust in your eyes
No real love to be found there
Underneath your disguise

And I’m tired of being the girl
Who says she doesn’t care
When nobody ever sees her
As if she’s really there

I can fulfill all your fantasies
But my true worth you’ll never see
As long as you keep looking
At the outside of me

Endurance…

people-2430065_1280

Once again
She gulps down the pain
Forcing back the tears
Trying to refrain

Because love is worth
A river of tears
Especially if you overcome
All those miserable years

She knows she must stay strong
And not give in to defeat
Because she loses so much
When she decides to retreat

And with fresh determination
She’ll face each new day
Overflowing with fortitude
She’ll never go astray

Accursed

He had never once guessed
He’d be left all alone
But that’s what happens
When you’re deceitfully prone

And in his blind consternation
He believed his cover was hidden
With all his deep dark secrets
Locked somewhere in the forbidden

But she had attained access
To every pathetic and unregretful lie
Even though he thought for certain
All was hidden from her eye

And that was the veiled beauty
Her most perfect vindication
For she was witness to it all
As she watched his ruination

His poor soul was the only responder
As his eyes grew imminently dim
And he’d never even expected
All the trouble he was in

Until the very end…

fantasy-1119432_1280

I was once a bright shining star
Never once realizing
That my days were numbered

But over the course of many moons
I did finally succumb
To the darkness which surrounds us all

Of course, there’s no going back now
The only way through
Is to catch the tail of a passing comet

And catching one is easier than it looks
They move so fast
Before you know it, they’re long gone

But maybe, just maybe, I’ll get lucky one day
I’ll vanish into oblivion
And come out the other side renewed, and reborn

That is if there actually is another side…
That’s still the question
The one I’ll never quite be certain of, until the very end
