In the shadows he stands
waiting for a muse
but not just anyone
is perfect for his clues

He has a way with words
philosophical charm
the kind of spirit
that would never cause harm

And it’s interesting to see
the way that he plays
the vibe he gives off
seductively stays

If I had to predict
who he’ll eventually choose
It’ll be the kind of lover
who seeks to amuse

He craves an audience
hoping for a chance
to share his artistic endeavors
while still radiating romance

Surly he’ll receive
all that he’s after
poised and ready
to be somebody’s master

Review of “I can’t remember you” by Adam Fenner

Many thanks to Adam Fenner, who writes poetry, short and full-length novels, and past and present poetry reviews on his blog. Adam decided to feature my poem today, and I am honored by his decision. I hope you’ll all go check out his page, which can be found here.

Failing

I’m failing
Falling hard
Into a funnel
Of finality
Fully aware
That fortitude
Is finally
Failing me
