The Edge of Forever

There she sat
At the edge of forever
Lost in the gloom
Of the shadowy weather

Slumped all alone
In her dismal state
She wondered if anyone
Could possibly relate

Was her solitary life
Always meant to be
If only the answer
She could one day see

Forever seemed too far
As the friendless void imprisoned
No condemnation to pass
This was mostly her decision

Saying goodbye to social media

There have been so many disappointments in my life over the past several years and I think a lot of those issues started with being on social media and the repercussions that came with being on there.  I have mulled over this subject for months and months now and I have finally decided that the time has come for me to close all of my social media accounts.  And as many of you have probably noticed, I haven’t been writing much in recent days.  I just feel like I need to take a step back in many ways.  I have so many other priorities right now and I feel like I need to be focusing my time in other areas of my life.  If any of you need to contact me, I can still be reached by email which can be found if you click on my Gravatar.  Thank you all for understanding, and I will still be providing the writing prompts every month and doing my best to keep up with all of that.  Love you guys… ~M xo

Leaning towards lazy

lazy

Do you ever just feel
Like you need a day to be lazy
The world keeps on spinning
Driving you crazy

And you just need a moment
To forget your life
Time to free yourself
From the pain, grief, and strife

Is it all too much
To ask for such a day
To let your mind wander
And be free to play

Can you imagine if you had that?
What would you even do?
A whole day to yourself
Could change your whole view

I wonder if any of us
Will ever find out
I’d like so much to hope for it
Rather than doubt

Guess it’s a decision
That we all must make
Should be an easy one
For the sanity of our own sake

I think determination is the key
We must fight for our own time
And regardless of what I think
It shouldn’t be a crime

So I’m voting for a day
To relax, sleep, and play
And I’m wondering…
Will you all join me today?

Window of warning

shame

Window of warning
Opened above
Rays of sunshine
Warmth of love

Voice of reasoning
Calling her name
Beseeching her to leave
A life of shame

Reminder of things
Futures to come
Imploring her to remember
What cannot be undone

Choices, decisions
Whirred through her head
Her choosing too late
For she was already dead
