These illicit blue walls
They speak in hushed tones
Hiding what they assume
I’ll never be able to bear
But little do they realize
I already know the truth
And the color underneath
Is unmistakably scarlet red

She was the sun
And he was her moon
Both went to great lengths
To be able to commune
His pale face always reflected
The warmth of her glow
This was something he shared
So everyone would know
And as each night descended
During twilight’s first view
He would shine even brighter
While basking in her hue
The nights never grew dim
For she was his enduring light
And her luminous display
Made everything alright

A thought
An ember
Long gone
Before I remember
A memory
A curse
Inside my head
It only gets worse
A fantasy
A desire
Images racing
About to expire
An epiphany
The truth
Those memories
Weren’t waterproof

I just spent two long hours
Pouring out how I feel
Then deleted all the words
That I wanted to conceal
I was rambling on
And nothing made sense
I feel like everything I say
Is in self-defense
I guess I’m just feeling lost
Because everyone is gone
And most don’t understand
How I’ve felt all along
And so the tears have won again
Like they sometimes do
I guess this is just what happens
When I find myself missing you
