Under his spell
She fell
She drank
An affair of the heart
In ruin
She sank
Torpedoes dispersed
She tried
To veer
But in the end
The outcome
Was clear

Endurance…
Once again
She gulps down the pain
Forcing back the tears
Trying to refrain
Because love is worth
A river of tears
Especially if you overcome
All those miserable years
She knows she must stay strong
And not give in to defeat
Because she loses so much
When she decides to retreat
And with fresh determination
She’ll face each new day
Overflowing with fortitude
She’ll never go astray

Intense longing
Is what I used to feel
For what he took
Was not his to steal
He ran away
My heart in hand
Makes me wonder now
If this was always his plan
Good riddance to you
Is what I now say
I never needed
My heart anyway
For who wants or needs
The potential to be broken
Should have thrown it away
Before it became his token
