Never apologize for being you

To apologize would say
I’m sorry for being me
and I will never be sorry
for who I am.

I could say I’m sorry
I didn’t live up to your expectations
but that would be telling a lie.

No, I’m quite happy with how I was
and I’m happy with how I’ve become.

I’m happy for every single thing
that I’ve done in my life.

I wouldn’t change a thing
because that would be erasing
who I am.

But there’s one thing
I am sorry about,
the fact that you couldn’t see
all the good inside of me.

Mondayish

Oh, Monday what can I say?
Your clouds aren’t very picturesque today.

Your vibe is off, your face isn’t sunny,
at least my eggs are still soft and runny.

Why are you always such a pill,
while all the other days give me such a thrill.

You make me feel down and somewhat dreary,
and even when you’re shinning I still get leery.

So now I’ve got this Mondayish vibe,
and thanks to you I might not survive.

Could you please be better when you come next,
so I don’t have to feel like I’ve been hexed.

The Invisible Highway

bible-1869164_960_720

Will it make a difference
If I open this book
What would I read
Where would I look?

Will the words guide me
Or show me the way
Does it really make a difference
What I do or what I say?

If it really is a gateway
To a vast world beyond
Why doesn’t anyone
Ever seem to respond?

It’s so dark in here
And the distance seems too far
Am I really just grasping
For a non-existent star?

Where is this highway
The one I’m told exists
Am I just stupid
Or is there something amiss?

So many questions
Where has the truth all gone
Is this story actually factual
Something I can depend upon?

Who can tell me
Will I ever really know
Or is this life I’m living
All just a fabricated show?
