Rinky Dinky

Poor ol Rinky Dinky
Was scorned for his name
But one thing it did
Was bring him great fame

And isn’t it funny
How the struggles we face
Can often turn around
To be things we embrace

Glass houses

angry

He lived in a small glass house
Ruled by an ill-tempered wife
She strangled all his passions
And battered him with strife

But one day she struck him
A little bit too hard
And now their tiny house
Is nothing but fractured shards

Along the path to nowhere

autumn-2854220_960_720

Drowning in the weald
Without a sword or shield
She was lost to the deep
Twilight had put her to sleep

But he somehow found her there
So full of sorrow and despair
And he gave her what he could
Although he was no Robin Hood

She applauded him for trying his best
This mission being his most important test
Yet both realized there had to be another way
Or they’d both be lost to the vast array

So a final plan was set into motion
Filled with dedication, love, and emotion
And determination eventually got them there
Saving them both from the path to nowhere

Writing prompt: Consultant drowning deep within the shallow wood

The pendulum of posterity

pendulum-1934311_960_720

The melodical swing
Of the pendulum swung
While posterity overlooked
All quondam had brung

And time insisted
Its lessons be learned
Yet immature neophytes
Were unconcerned

Frustration Jubilation

blurry

Little did he even know
The jig was more for show
The dance was a necessary act
Based on a well-known fact

But he being in the dark
Couldn’t see the light in the park
And the walk seemed bleak
After losing his ability to speak
