Be the light that I need
Be the air that I breathe
Be all that I can see
Whenever I forget to be me

Hope whispered a promise
Quietly in her ear
Reminding her that happiness
Would eventually draw near

You unfurl the soft petals which bloom in the spring
You bring the gentle rain that makes the birds sing
You create the music that drifts over the breeze
You allow us to see you in the rustle of crisp leaves
You show us majestic views created by your hand
You provide for every need when we cannot stand
You turn the leaves into bright beacons every fall
You encourage the tiny oak to grow up so very tall
You scatter the seeds by sprinkling them around
You give us new life and let pure beauty abound
You remind us every day of your awesome power
You grant us your mercy and are our strong tower
You love us beyond what is measured here on earth
You bind our hearts together and show us our worth
You gave us a promise that we must choose to accept
You died to give us life and always promise to protect
You know each of our names and what’s in store
You are the same today, tomorrow, and forevermore

Beneath the silvery moon sky
She kisses all her cares goodbye
Barefoot and free
She races down to the sea
In the soft glow of the night
She dances in pure delight
Her emotions are heightened
Yet she is not frightened
The breezy ocean air
Runs fingers through her hair
The cool salty mist
Gives a soft gentle kiss
She embraces the touch
From this place she loves so much
She is pleased by her endeavor
But knows she cannot stay forever
Her heart is heavy and torn
Creases of it now aged and worn
She reaches down underneath the sand
Capturing the tiny pieces in the palm of her hand
Gently blowing the colored crystals away
She promises to come back another day
