Do you ever feel…

Do you ever feel
like you can’t reach out,
like nobody will understand
what you’re all about.

Do you ever feel
like you don’t fit in,
and you wish you could change
all your thoughts within.

Do you ever feel
like the world waves you away,
as if you don’t matter
like you’ve nothing to say.

Do you ever feel
like you’re doing it all wrong,
and no matter what you try
you still don’t feel strong.

Do you ever feel
like you’re hopelessly lost,
but you still try to continue,
knowing what giving up costs.

Do you ever feel
like a failure or mistake,
going through the motions
even when your enthusiasm is fake.

Do you ever feel
like you just can’t get things right,
but you know you can’t surrender;
not without a fight.

Do you ever feel
like you shouldn’t say a word,
because everyone might think
your words are just absurd.

Do you ever feel
like you hold back all your grief,
and you wish in desperation
for a minute of relief.

Do you ever feel
like nobody will understand,
and you wish for somebody
to come along and hold your hand.

Do you ever feel
like someone should listen,
but at long last, you realize
you are no magician.

The battle of love…

Oh why can’t we make love instead of war?

Isn’t love supposed to make the world go round?

And if a thing of beauty is a joy forever
Then where is this everlasting joy?

A soft answer surely turns away wrath
But what ends up taking its place?

I’m always hopeful that love will find a way
And yet the journey of a thousand miles must begin with that first step
I wonder… am I really ready to begin that expedition?

I’ve been reminded in recent days of how misery loves company
And a friend in need is a friend indeed
But if opportunity never knocks twice
Then how did I end up here?

Cold hands are supposed to equal a warm heart
So I’ve been looking for the chilliest weather I can find
But I know Rome wasn’t built in a day
And it seems that time is taking its own sweet time

It definitely takes two to tango
And you can’t teach an old dog new tricks
So where in the world does that leave me?

And don’t get me wrong…
I know you can’t win them all
But people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones
Especially since all is fair in love and war

Behind forbidden’s door

Turn this page over
See what’s behind
In-between the creases
I cannot hide
You’ll see my reality
The truth that I face
The depth of my desires
I dare not taste
Each sweeter than honey
These visions I explore
Yet locked in silence
Behind forbidden’s door

Savoring the thrill

naked-1216595_1280

Savoring the thrill
Of his tempestuous kiss
He ravaged her soul
In a moment of bliss

She couldn’t catch her breath
His hands were tangled in her hair
And of everything else around her
She was completely unaware

Time seemed to stop
There was nowhere to go
The universe still remained
And yet the day she did not know

For she had lost all awareness
In the nonexistent realm of reality
And all that she remembered
Was what he wanted her to see
