And shifting tides
Dispelling the grains
Of ordinary matter
No real answers
As the waves flux
Just more questions
While time escapes

I’ve been thinking about love
And how for a brief moment
I held it in the palm of my hand
I was filled with a hurricane of emotions
Something my heart could barely withstand
So powerful was the force
That it took me by complete surprise
And my heart now wonders
How such a love ever became compromised

Many loves
She did find
Ever existing in
The hopeless kind
Hearts scattered
Far and wide
None of them ever
By her side
Fond remembrances
Of what couldn’t be
Heart still breaking
Wanting free
Empty reflections
Left in the mirror
Hidden behind
One final tear

In the stillness of the day
I sit quietly and reflect
On all the wondrous things
I so often tend to neglect
I become fully entranced
By the soft billowy clouds
Which are often forgotten
Amongst the bustle of the crowds
The flowers captivate me too
Each one smiling at the sun
Seems God’s perfect glory
Can never be outdone
The trees all leisurely sway
To the beat of the zealous breeze
And the bees and the wild things hum
To the rustling of tender leaves
There’s magic in the air
Drifting along on a waft of sweet perfume
And I’m lost once again
To the wonders of a beautiful afternoon

I’m failing
Falling hard
Into a funnel
Of finality
Fully aware
That fortitude
Is finally
Failing me
