It took time, but it was all they needed

A pot of tea
steeping slow
allowed the conversation
to drift, then flow

A trembling hand
a splatter of cream
all witnessed beneath
a summer sunbeam

Starting with a look
a blooming glance
the wind stirred
in the sight of romance

Blushing boughs offered
a chance alone
doing all the things
some would never condone

With the wide old oak
shielding their play
prying eyes
slowly crept away

Rousing smiles rendered
a half giggle or two
as heartstrings seized
love anew

Soulmates

They sense
the pull
the tug
the distance
resistance

They feel
every thought
every question
every emotion
commotion

They know
the reality
the truth
the lies
sighs

They see
every move
every look
every disguise
wise

They love
the good
the bad
the best
blessed

They give
every piece
every purpose
every chance
romance

They bring
the fun
the hope
the laughter
banter

They are
every day
every way
every moment
ours

More of me and you

He could always inspire me
no matter time or day
Like two peas in a pod
we’d finish what each would say

But the difference was
he could never love me like you
He only really wanted
to tell me what to do

I felt guilty when I wouldn’t
ashamed for who I was
Becoming very lonely
all just because

And I realized what I was doing
I wasn’t living for myself
I was trying to give someone
what they couldn’t give themself

Those years were difficult to weather
so glad they eventually blew
In the end I found what I needed
more of me and you

In heart, soul, and mind…

When the world starts to fade away
And we are mostly forgotten
You will still be here with me
And I will still be there with you
In heart, soul, and mind
We will forever stay entwined
This is our endless love story
Our hearts unseen by others
A picture only known to us

How it all began…

I didn’t know him anymore
And I couldn’t find me
Then suddenly like a light
You were all I could see

A breath of fresh air
A vice ripped from my chest
And finally I knew
You were the thing I loved best
