Wouldn’t it?

Wouldn’t it be satisfying
to always stay
right next to each other
arousing never-ending play

Wouldn’t it be something
to awaken the sky
watching us kiss
beneath its bright blue eye

Wouldn’t it be amazing
to go dipping our toes
in a stream faraway
where nobody goes

Wouldn’t it be exciting
to throw off all our clothes
existing in a place
where nobody knows

Wouldn’t it be romantic
to settle down in the shade
knowing absolutely nothing
could ever be forbade

Wouldn’t it be perfect
to be all alone
in a place like no other
blissfully unknown

Wouldn’t it be magical
to exist in a world beyond
like a tale that never ends
going on and on

Beguiled to wait

Another night
Another dream
Each one drifting
On a moonlit beam

Some were loving
Some were kind
Some were fashioned
To entice his mind

The days were short
The nights stretched long
Their appetites swelled
Unsatisfyingly strong

Daydreams came
And daydreams went
None could capture
Her intoxicating scent

Wondrous words
Wound their way
Over mountains and oceans
Resolved to stay

Years slipped by
As time stood still
Each day brimming
With vigor and thrill

Still, answers lingered
At the bottom of the sea
Forever just beyond
The lovers’ pleas

Exhausted, they yielded
To the pull of fate
Lost on a zephyr
Beguiled to wait

Player

In the shadows he stands
waiting for a muse
but not just anyone
is perfect for his clues

He has a way with words
philosophical charm
the kind of spirit
that would never cause harm

And it’s interesting to see
the way that he plays
the vibe he gives off
seductively stays

If I had to predict
who he’ll eventually choose
It’ll be the kind of lover
who seeks to amuse

He craves an audience
hoping for a chance
to share his artistic endeavors
while still radiating romance

Surly he’ll receive
all that he’s after
poised and ready
to be somebody’s master

It took time, but it was all they needed

A pot of tea
steeping slow
allowed the conversation
to drift, then flow

A trembling hand
a splatter of cream
all witnessed beneath
a summer sunbeam

Starting with a look
a blooming glance
the wind stirred
in the sight of romance

Blushing boughs offered
a chance alone
doing all the things
some would never condone

With the wide old oak
shielding their play
prying eyes
slowly crept away

Rousing smiles rendered
a half giggle or two
as heartstrings seized
love anew

Soulmates

They sense
the pull
the tug
the distance
resistance

They feel
every thought
every question
every emotion
commotion

They know
the reality
the truth
the lies
sighs

They see
every move
every look
every disguise
wise

They love
the good
the bad
the best
blessed

They give
every piece
every purpose
every chance
romance

They bring
the fun
the hope
the laughter
banter

They are
every day
every way
every moment
ours
