From a sliver of a moon

I dangled dangerously from a sliver of a moon
to search the land and silvery seas.
But even with my old trusty telescope,
I couldn’t seem to find you through the trees.

So I leapt onto a gust of westward winds
and sailed away on a stray pink cloud.
And now I’m living on a dandelion petal
doing things I’ve never been allowed.

Something just for me

My heart will forever feel heavy,
but my head will always remain free
because I’ve chosen a different path now,
something just for me.

And I know there will be some,
who will never quite understand,
but I only have this one life here,
and the journey is mine to command.

Marveling over mushrooms

There’s a small city
I never really see,
right outside
in front of me.

It’s hidden in the glen
thickets deep,
where the clover
likes to creep.

The little city bustles
with a steady flow
of creatures so tiny
they’re hard to know.

So, at last, today,
I opened my eyes,
shook to my core
by the loveliest surprise.

A small city
I’d never really seen,
right outside,
all for me.

Come play with me

Come play with me
Spend the whole day
We’ll find adventures
I’ll show you the way

Come play with me
We’ll have plenty to do
A fun day to share
Just me and you

Come play with me
Give me your hand
Let’s race to the moon
I know you’ll understand

Come play with me
There’s a secret place I know
A traipse through the forest
Is where we’ll have to go

Come play with me
Through the trees to the sea
The sound of the waves
Is sure to set you free

Come play with me
We’ll have so much fun
Let’s get going
Before the day is done

I looked up…

I looked to the heavens,
and what did I find?
I found answers to my questions
of the heartwarming kind.
And isn’t it funny
how we never have to look far;
the answers they come to us
right where we are.
So next time I start to lose hope,
I’ll just look up once again.
And I’ll wait for the answers
from where they’ve always been.
I’ll keep trusting in the magic
of things unforeseen
and revel in the splendor
as the heavens intervene.
