I am a slave
To its ring
That monstrosity
Of a thing
It calls for me
Night and day
Happily chiming
In its annoying way
And I wonder
What’s the good
To wish for a life
Beyond motherhood
For I was born to clean
Every mess
And so now
I shall digress

I was and dry the clothes. My wife can fold them. Rarely happens though.

Great poem! As I have to go downstairs and across the parking lot to use apartment laundry facilities, it’s not my fave chore 🙂 Especially in winter rain/snow/ice…

Laudry is the one chore I detest.

It’s not the worst chore for me, but it’s right up there with so many others I dislike. Lol
