My phantom friend

Capture

Orbs of light
dance before me.

Iridescent illusions
begging for attention.

Wisps of wonderment,
mesmerizing and bizarre.

Veiled splendor,
yearning for notice.

Hidden behind
a harsh reality.

And I say…
“I see you.”

My heartfelt wish
is that she’ll keep on dancing

And in nebulous purple,
she remains my phantom friend.

  1. You have a way with words. This was eloquent and has me wanting to dance with your phantom friend. It’s like she may be dancing in a tropical place with one ray of the sun shining through if is it her own spot-light that she enjoys alone. I love it!

    1. Thank you… I wrote this on a damp and foggy night, very mystical feeling. And looking outside at the lamppost, allowed my imagination to run wild. Don’t you just love it when that sort of thing happens?

      1. Yes! and then my pen seems to develop a mind of its own and I really do not know what is written until it is finished. Then I sit back in utter amazement, not even knowing I had that inside of me. Those are rare cherishing moments. it was written with gravity and I was pulled in. 🙂 love your style and mind!

        1. They really are rare cherishing moments, and half the time I just sit in disbelief and wonder the same as you. Then years or months later, I’ll come back and read what I’ve written, and I’m still amazed once again. I think we often surprise ourselves by what we’re actually capable of because it’s hard to believe in ourselves sometimes.
