Sunlight

I’m in love with the way
you dance across my door
beckoning, inviting me
once again to explore

You play with the wind
scattering your rays all around
filtering your lovely light
through the trees without a sound

Sometimes I notice your flecks
sprinkled across my wall
a kaleidoscope of prismatic colors
that I don’t mind at all

You’re a joy to behold
an extraordinary gift from the sun
shining your radiance upon me
and enthralling everyone

  1. This makes me remember babies reaching out to sunbeams like Trixie in the old Hi and Lois comics. Interesting when I think of my very oldest memories of ‘existence’ I forget about remembering reaching out and exploring sunbeams, maybe that truly is my earliest real memory. And that brings up other memories like crawling and baby smells and seeing my mother working at the sewing machine.

Groovy, you brought all that out with your words. ☀️

      1. Ha, I was wondering the other day if there even were Sunday comics anymore. Or has that all gone away too?!? I mean, I have not gotten the Sunday paper in years. Comics were fought over as kids. My favorite were ‘Peanuts’ and ‘Hi and Lois’ and ‘Family Circus’. I think my daughters may remember the Funny Papers, but there is no chance my grandkids do! Time rolls on.

        1. I don’t think there are anymore. And if Hi and Lois was next to Peanuts and Family Circus, then I know I must’ve read it. I just don’t recall it for some reason. It’s kind of sad that things have changed so much. I used to transfer comics via silly putty. Did you ever do that?
