There was nothing left to say

Capture

There was nothing left to say,
at the end of that fateful day.

The next morning,
the sky parted as usual
as the birds all sang in unison.
Each one responding
without a trifle
of a pink puffy, cloudy care.

The day lazily drifted by
as the trees did their perennial thing,
each one dancing and swaying
to the sound of the honeybees,
all very eager and harmonious,
in their afternoon endeavors.

Even the flowers
dressed in white,
parading around in their newest,
frilly attire,
couldn’t have been,
more carefree.
Each one so unassuming,
in their leisure,
yet studious displays.

Because like always,
it was just another ordinary day.
Another glorious day
to be alive.
At least that was the case
for everyone, but her.

Never

people-3422435_1280

We never really hit it off ― he and I
but oh how we tried.

And it was lovely at first,
it really was,
until that fateful day.

The spell finally broke,
the magic drifted away,
and I think we both felt the sting.

But we also both craved
something deeper ― meaningful.
And that something
just couldn’t
be found.

The ones we can’t forget…

water-battle-636761_1280

Sometimes there are people
Who you just can’t forget
They make an impact on your life
And often change your mindset

What makes them unforgettable
Is that they’re always there
And by lending a listening ear
They show how much they care

They’re the ones who spread encouragement
The kind who give us hope
And on the days spent without them
It’s often hard to cope

We can search our whole lives
Just to find even one
Because a rapport like this
Just can’t be outdone

And so when we’re blessed
With such a mate
We must hold tight
For it’s surely fate

And with each new day
We appreciate them more
Because we know they’re far beyond
What we could ever ask for

Corrupted

clock-3179159_1280

As the ink slowly drips
Conjuring its spell
I give myself over
To the desires that dwell

I watch the words forming
In a vapory haze
Leaving me sickened
Weary and dazed

Stretching the bounds
Of my disjointed affliction
I write through hell
For this is my addiction

Lured once again
By this mysterious fate
These are moments
I live to hate

Defenseless

The burden he bore
Gave no time for refute
He’d been given a job
One could not dispute

And poor Lady Jane
In her ashen condition
Seemed far beyond
Any hope of volition

Not a single wish
Could change her fate
The course was set
Her breath too late

And the Lady in wait
Sorrowfully reclined
Pearls in hand
No peace of mind

The room stood still
As time captured the end
Poor Lady Jane
Not a soul would defend
