Delicious

There was something about him

Maybe it was his resistance
The slight hesitation in his voice
The thrill of the chase
The game he fashioned just for me

Whatever it was
There was something there
Something that really turned me on
Something that made me wanna play

He hid his perversions well
In a place of secrecy and self-denial
Never confessing to the urges
Which plagued his corrupted soul

And whatever drove his appetite
For all those lewd, secretive cravings
Made him even more alluring to me
Relentlessly arousing my primal instincts

I remember reading his every thought
Drowning in his desires
And the very thought of him
Was delicious

Destiny

sunset-3156176_1280

Tragic are the days
Without a hand to hold
When love is miles away
And nights are forever cold

And as those days turn into years
Futility becomes our only lover
The heart begins to lose
Any chance to rediscover

We spend our remaining years
Sad and all alone
Without another person
To call our very own

And we regret the time
We wasted in between
It’s too bad our destiny
Remained unforeseen

All because of you

tree-247122_1280

If love can conquer all
Than I am a victor in your arms
And not even the plagues of the world
Can touch the light in my soul

For you have enabled me to shine
During the darkest most dismal days
Illuminating my way
Even when I could not

There were a myriad of times
When I walked through shadowed realms
And you were there
To help guide my way

You never left me alone on that arduous path
Embracing me daily
Your outstretched arms ever ready
Never faltering to motion me in

And every bend in the road
Was a heartwarming gift
Because you were there
Loving me as only you can

And now I am beholden to you
My love, my life
The one who nurtures
Every part of my being

What was once before me
Has dissipated at my feet
And it’s all because
You remained by my side

Irreplaceable friends

There is no replacing a friend
The kind who speaks to you every day
Even just a simple hello or goodbye
Is all they ever have to say

For just knowing they are out there
Remembering that you exist
Makes them the best kind of friend
Whom none could ever resist

I guess it all depends…

suspended-leaf-3166771_1280

We often experience
A multitude of seasons
And nobody really knows
All of those reasons

But we carry on
Like we always do
Even when the answers
Are nearly none to few

And we never stop to question
What those seasons mean
Yet there must be hidden answers
In everything we’ve seen

Scattered between the pages
Of our monotonous lives
There have got to be reasons
For why we’ve somehow survived

And even if those answers
Are never actually found
We should all be happy
We’ve been allowed to stick around

So many people in this world
Never have that gifted chance
I guess it all depends
On our individual circumstance
