Immutable

In dreams, we stand
along the shore
against the waves
we can’t ignore.

The threat of turmoil
swirls at our feet,
but we both know
there’s no defeat.

For when we stand,
we abide together,
a bond so strong
it can’t be weathered.

Our love more resilient
with every tide,
shipwrecked we’d be
without the other beside.

You transport me…

You transport me to a world
where anything is possible,
a place where time stands still,
where we never grow old.

And in that magical world,
you are mine to keep forever,
to love, hold, and cherish,
until the end of time.

Sometimes
there are times,
I wish I could
go back.

I’d fix
all the places
where things
went right off track.

But then
I remember,
you can’t fix
what’s not been learned.

So instead,
I just keep livin,
knowin the past
has been adjourned.

Here we are
in the spaces in-between
Hidden inside a realm
of longing and need

Darkness and light
nourish our souls
Our days and desires
consumed by what unfolds

An alternate universe
is what we’ve created
Our minds free to soar
our hearts awakened

Every day with you
compounds my addiction
A life of love
without limitations

Choosing what to remember,
often looking beyond,
time has been kind to me;
the memories are fond.

I could sink into a slew
of unfavorable recollections,
but my heart knows the cost
of unsightly reflections.

So the bright side wins out,
neither a regret nor a sigh,
and I never feel too bad
when my head is in the sky.

Others may decide to loiter
in the pit of despair,
but why would sensible me
ever choose to go there.
