Her Eyes

Her eyes
A sea of uncertainty
Revealed a torrid past
Of waves not easily reckoned with
For the fervent tide was still there
Lingering on the isolated shore
And the longer he gazed
Into her peridot eyes
The more he realized
Just how deep and vast
The ocean really was
Which separated him from her

Her Secret Place…

sea2

Beneath the silvery moon sky
She kisses all her cares goodbye

Barefoot and free
She races down to the sea

In the soft glow of the night
She dances in pure delight

Her emotions are heightened
Yet she is not frightened

The breezy ocean air
Runs fingers through her hair

The cool salty mist
Gives a soft gentle kiss

She embraces the touch
From this place she loves so much

She is pleased by her endeavor
But knows she cannot stay forever

Her heart is heavy and torn
Creases of it now aged and worn

She reaches down underneath the sand
Capturing the tiny pieces in the palm of her hand

Gently blowing the colored crystals away
She promises to come back another day

I feel lost…

sand-2213287_960_720

I feel lost
In a vast sea
One that no longer
Recognizes me
Why must the tide
Ebb and flow
Wish it would stay
But it always goes

The spotted speck

sparkling

It floated across
The wide open sea
A spotted speck
Was all it seemed to be
And yet upon
A much closer inspection
She noticed it was just
A mere reflection
Twas the sun glinting
Off the crystalline blue
Radiating a rather
Resplendent hue
And she wished every image
Could have such a lovely effect
And wondered why the whole world
Couldn’t be like that spotted speck

The Storm

sea-2561397_960_720

As night enveloped
Their fears developed
For they couldn’t see the shore

The rain showered down
Thunder all around
As they huddled on the floor

Lightning bolts flashed
As the swells began to crash
They secured their only door

But it seemed their plight
Wouldn’t relent that night
As the winds increasingly roared

With the cabin secured
They felt somewhat reassured
But the chaos they couldn’t ignore

The storm continued to rage on
Until the brink of dawn
Settling at half past four

It was then they finally knew
That they had made it through
Their tears began to pour

And it made them consider
The misfortunes life can deliver
They were all changed like never before
