You

You find me in
the busy of day;
no matter how
you find a way.

A brief moment
to send a kiss,
it’s the kind of thing
you never miss.

Every opportunity
you seek me out
and oh, the love
I feel throughout.

Even now,
while you’re asleep,
I feel your love
in dreams so deep.

Connected by
a force unknown;
you’ve become
my one true home.

Just reflecting

Do you ever wonder why things
can’t be as they were
Time always changes things
and causes such a stir

People eventually change
and that’s because everyone grows
still I miss the old ways
and change I do oppose

I miss when my kids were little
the times of simple bliss
now the world has gotten so hectic
everything’s amiss.

I struggle with the here and now
and the moments way back then
still knowing I’d never want to do
all those years again

As great as they really were
life was hard then too
I guess I need to remember that
whenever I’m feeling blue

One never really thinks
about the day their children will leave
and it’s sad when they forget you
It’s something you forever grieve

I know my very own parents
probably feel the exact same way
but the distance makes it harder
and so we drift away.

And friends are difficult to follow
everyone’s here and there
but there’s only one of me
though I’d love to be everywhere

And now that I am older
I find myself learning to be still
sinking into the background
not looking for a thrill

Still I am very happy
and maybe more content than most
but very humbly I say that
for I’d never want to boast

I do enjoy my life though
and yet some days are still so sad
but they’re few and far between
and for that I’m really glad

And today I’m just reflecting
missing those who’ve gone afar
and I think I’ve come to accept
I have to leave them where they are

You’re never forgotten

Sometimes,
you might feel like
hurling yourself
at the moon.

Others times,
you might wanna
just sit quietly
under the stars.

But no matter where
you find yourself…

Just know
that the stars
will never forget
the wishes you made.

And the moon
will never misrecollect
that crestfallen look
upon your face.

Because even when
the world disremembers,
the cosmos still counts
every tear it ever created.

Stuck in a divide

Sometimes time away
does us a bit of good
when we’re made to feel sad
or misunderstood.

Rejection is hard,
but being misread is worse;
makes me feel like
my insides might burst.

Sometimes the world
gets me so down,
but then there’s that one friend
who can turn it around.

And thank goodness for the days
when we’re given a little lift;
the burdens get so heavy
as we begin to sort and sift.

I always start to wonder
why warm fuzzies are so fleeting;
I suppose it just depends
on those who you’ve been greeting.

One friend can be a blessing,
but then another can be a curse;
I guess being without anyone
would probably be the worst.

I think we need the right balance
and to be careful who we let inside
because one wrong decision
and then we’re stuck in a divide.

Write me a poem…

Write me a poem
Express what you will
It doesn’t have to rhyme
Just tell me how you feel

It can be candid or cryptic
Full of love or even hate
Just tell me how you’re doing
I’ll give no debate

The things that you write
Won’t be judged by me
Just say what you want
And set yourself free

Let your words flow easily
Pour them on a page
You might find it helpful
To empty some rage

Whatever spills out
Must come from deep within
And don’t get so frustrated
That you throw them in the bin

Every word matters
The good and the bad
Sometimes this is the only way
To empty all the sad

So please take your time
And tell me how you feel
Be it positive or negative
It’s the only way to heal

You’ll be relieved to have unburdened
What’s been clinging to your soul
It’s the only good way
To feeling happy and whole
