He gave me a look
I’ll never forget.
It was the kind of display
that takes your breath away,
rendering one giddy
from the thrill of it.
It was the sort of look
that leaves you dancing
on a euphoric cloud,
intoxicated by the soothing
waves of wonder
sweeping over your soul.
And I’ll never forget
that sweet moment of bliss
when his gorgeous gaze
wrapped around my own.
Because that’s when I knew
that he really did love me,
and I know for certain
he still does.

This is such a beautiful poem Michele and something every couple on earth aspires too. Those first moments are just surreal and you captured it so well my friend! 💖

Thank you so much, Cindy. 💫 I love it when those moments continue, even after you’ve known someone for a very long time. I don’t think true love ever really dies. It just transforms and gets better over the years. 😉

Michelle, lovely. This middle stanza resonated most with me. I love the use of “sweeping over your soul.”

I was just thinking today how people can communicate so eloquently with another person without saying a word. You cannot put that look in a text or a phone call and it loses a lot on a Skype call.
Well done, Keith

Thank you, Keith ☺️ Technology has definitely not advanced enough to give us that crisp face to face experience. I’m still waiting for a transporter like in Star Trek or a portkey or floo network like in Harry Potter. Lol… 🧹

Michelle, when I was working and we had a consultant on the phone or video-chatting, I tried to be in the room live with a client to read the body language. When someone starts talking, it is hard to interrupt if the client does not understand the point. I found myself saying “Vickie (or Tom), could you give an example of what you just said, as we are a little confused here.” There is an art to explaining complex topics to folks with different backgrounds. That’s a gorgeous poem, Michelle. So much is communicated through our hearts to each other without words. At that level, words are unnecessary. Love this poem. 💙🦋

It’s so true, so much can be said through a look, a touch, or even just a feeling we get when we’re really connected to someone.
