Write me a poem…

Write me a poem
Express what you will
It doesn’t have to rhyme
Just tell me how you feel

It can be candid or cryptic
Full of love or even hate
Just tell me how you’re doing
I’ll give no debate

The things that you write
Won’t be judged by me
Just say what you want
And set yourself free

Let your words flow easily
Pour them on a page
You might find it helpful
To empty some rage

Whatever spills out
Must come from deep within
And don’t get so frustrated
That you throw them in the bin

Every word matters
The good and the bad
Sometimes this is the only way
To empty all the sad

So please take your time
And tell me how you feel
Be it positive or negative
It’s the only way to heal

You’ll be relieved to have unburdened
What’s been clinging to your soul
It’s the only good way
To feeling happy and whole

I’m a mood catcher

I’m a mood catcher;
I have no defense,
emotions they all stick to me,
leaving me tense.

And I have to admit;
it’s annoying as hell
to catch a mood
that leaves me unwell.

I’m usually happy
and slow to anger,
but when a mood is present,
you’ll feel the danger.

I’m like a balloon
filling up with hot air,
too much, and boom,
you don’t wanna go there.

My body can detonate
in an explosive fit;
all my rage can make an army,
cower and quit.

So please don’t infect me
with your lousy mood;
you might soon regret
your attitude.

*Thanks to my daughter Auti for picking out the photo. Guess she’s implying something here about her mama. Lol…

Fizzy treats and powdered elephant ears

Bubbling frothy brews
Too many goodies to choose

Writing prompt: Fizzy treats and powdered elephant ears

Lover of words

manipulation-4103289_1280

He was a lover of words
Drifting through time
And I tried unsuccessfully
To make him mine

He was a hoper, a dreamer
Very much like me
And when we were together
He was all I could see

He had a very unique way
Of making me feel
As if the world was all mine
Ready to steal

He was impulsive and sexy
Witty and fun
And his charming personality
Could not be outdone

He was so many things
I felt that I needed
But I soon lost my way
And I never succeeded

The wonder of inspiration

energy-3073847_1280

It’s always fun to see
Where we glean our inspiration
Especially during those times
Of wordless frustration

Sometimes it’s a word
A picture or a quote
Or other times it’s simply
What someone else wrote

Often it’s the news
A book or a short story
Which gives us the means
To write our own allegory

There are so many things
Which speak to our souls
A writer’s mind
Is never in control

And even these words
Right here on this page
Have come from a place
I cannot gauge

So I sit and enjoy
My mind’s aimless ramble
It’s something I’ve never
Been able to unscramble
