Just let them go…

If someone refuses to love you
It’s pointless to wish it so
Best to shrug your shoulders
And finally let them go

And if they come back to you
It’s best to set them free
For a heart that refuses to love you
Can never really be

Anchored avenues

winter-3197686_960_720

I thought those avenues
Were sound and secure
You had me believing
And damn I was sure

But only a fool believes
In things they can’t actually see
And now I know exactly
What you did to me

Those anchored avenues
Were apparently all for show
The truth came out
And so I let you go

People always ask me
If regrets still exist
But how can a broken heart
Even want to persist

The absence of you
Has only made me stronger
And I’ll never regret
Not wanting you any longer

Hobnobbed

people2

She hobnobbed
With the very best
Passing the pageantry
Of acceptance test
Now the poor darling
Has been laid to rest
The slanderous dagger
Still embedded in her chest

Beautiful you…

Frilly frocks
Artsy smocks
Sparkling eyes
Young yet wise
Dazzling smile
Goes for a mile
Gentle yet strong
My favorite song

Pastel perspectives

sunset2

Pink, white, baby blue
These old perspectives
Now a different hue

Yellow, orange, fiery red
Newfound colors
Filling up my head

Dull pastels wash away
As brilliant fresh colors
Save the day

Head n heart is where they’ll remain
Full of vibrant thoughts
In a stunning terrain
