There are days when you are close,
but mostly days when you are far.
And sometimes, even the stars
seem to wonder where you are.
This pushing and pulling
due to some odd gravitational force
always leaves me to wonder
if you’ve just gotten off course.
And my soul is forever searching,
looking for a definitive sign,
to show me you’re alright,
in the midst of this decline.
I’m always aching to understand
and know for certain you’re okay,
but it’s difficult to know sometimes
when you’re so far away.

We fly between Southern California and Seattle many times a year with two of our three girls and husbands living up there. Last year we decide to do this drive this fall, but with Covid it made it a little more direct driving with spending nights/eating, etc. All of that said I love the typography throughout the west! thanks for stopping by!

This beautiful poem by Michelle Cook tugged at my heart so deeply that I wanted to share it with all of you.
I love poems that take me back to a certain person, and How Are You gives me the feeling she’s right here with me.

My very great pleasure 🙂 I’ve written a lot about Susanna, and this said in so few words what I’ve written in so many. Your tone, pace, words, and rhythm were perfect.

A gravitational force, being pulled and since It has grabbed me, I might as well look for a definitive sign. and yet the stars have entered into the occasion. Expressed eloquently is your poetry.
