Meandering thoughts…

As spring bleeds into summer,
I know fall will soon usher in,
and the memories of you
will just become more vivid.
This was your season,
the one my dream foretold.

You were happiest here
amongst the acorns
and the cottonwood trees.
And you never missed a chance
to tell me how it was the song
of your heart.

As more memories flood me now,
I wrestle with the wind
as it disrupts my tears;
a cold hand for comfort
is all it can offer my soul.

The light of you
left my path long ago.
But I still see you
in every golden leaf
that glides my way.

            1. Yeah, I left Virginia ❤️on Wednesday, made my way over to Wisconsin,🐮 and now I’m headed to Florida.🌴 I hardly ever fly because I love being able to see all the sights along the way. 😁

  1. Wow, Michelle!! You really touched my heart with this one!! Your words were such a delight to read. Your last stanza brought a tear to my eye!! Well, done – Mission Accomplished!!! Thanks so much for sharing this!! Autumn is my favorite season too!
The only thing that could make this poem/post better/perfect would be to have you record an audio of it so we could close our eyes and visualize the mental images and listen to your sweet voice!! Please, record this for us, please????

    1. Chuck, I think you’re quite possibly my biggest WP fan. Thank you so much, you’re really too kind. 😊 As for the recording, I’ll have to think on that. I’m one of those people who is a bit camera shy sometimes and so the thought makes me a little nervous. Lol… I’ll see what I can do… 😬🤐🙂

      1. Ahhhh, You are so sweet Michelle!! Well, I really didn’t think of a video recording, but an audio recording is low key, low risk. How about that??? Please???? You can post it as a “repost”.
        Chuck 😊💕🌹🌹

    1. Thank you, T.J.S., it was interesting how this poem came together because the foundation of it was formed from a mixture of random memories, that somehow came together in the end.

        1. So true… I’m always amazed by what comes to me. And when things do finally come, I find myself racing away to write them down, or I just grab my phone. Lol…

            1. So is mine! Lol… It’s terrible… I probably have at least 500 random notes that just stew in the pot until I get far enough down to find them and use them. 🙄😁
