Can I love, you ask?

Yes, I can love like the wind
on a bright, breezy day,
and the smile in my heart
will take your breath away.

I’m full of hot lava,
hurricanes, and deep seas,
and when I bestow a kiss,
I bring my lover to their knees.

I’m like a serene tropical island
in the midst of summer storm,
and those who have loved me
have often felt reborn.

So yes, I can love,
probably even better than the rest,
but there’s no telling for certain
unless you put me to the test.

Wow to their knees!!!! You’ve got the touch my friend and love this:
“I’m like a serene tropical island
in the midst of summer storm,
and those who have loved me
    have often felt reborn.”

    1. Thank you, Keith. It took me forever to find the right photo for this. And when I found this one, I knew it was the perfect fit for this poem. 😁

    1. Thank you… ❤️nature always inspires me in so many ways. I started off with the first stanza and let it kinda sit for a few days while I mulled over what else I could add. The rest came from little snippets of things people had said to me over the years. So it was fun to write and reminisce at the same time.

    1. Thank you… this was a fun one to write. I always love incorporating nature and life lessons into my poems. I struggled with this one because it feels a bit cheeky to me. But in the end I decided that this is how it is when you love with your whole heart, and that’s what I try to do. 💛
