To apologize would say
I’m sorry for being me
and I will never be sorry
for who I am.
I could say I’m sorry
I didn’t live up to your expectations
but that would be telling a lie.
No, I’m quite happy with how I was
and I’m happy with how I’ve become.
I’m happy for every single thing
that I’ve done in my life.
I wouldn’t change a thing
because that would be erasing
who I am.
But there’s one thing
I am sorry about,
the fact that you couldn’t see
all the good inside of me.

We are who and what we are. We should never compromise ourselves just to please someone else or others who will never appreciate. You just need to be you. 😉

What a stunning poem, Michelle! We are who we are, and if other people can’t see that, then that’s their problem. You own who you are everyday. You don’t owe anyone an apology. This is how to live your life. Thank you for sharing a piece of your soul with us, my friend. I see you and you are enough😊🌻💛☮️

Thank you for saying all of this. It means so much to me having blogger friends like you, who stand beside me and encourage me when I’m finally able to find the words I’ve been holding onto. I’m smiling because of you. ☺️

What a powerful and deeply authentic poem. I love the balance between self-acceptance and vulnerability.
The closing lines are especially moving they remind us that sometimes the greatest sadness isn’t who we are, but when others fail to recognize the good within us. Thank you for sharing such an honest and beautifully written reflection. ❤️✨
